To get the best performance from your CleverLoop system, the following are the minimum requirements for your router and internet connection.
If you are using WiFi to connect your cameras, you need a router running 2.4Ghz WiFi. The cameras are not compatible with 5Ghz WiFi.
Any router capable of WiFi data transfer rates over 400Mbps, and/or with 1000Mbps (Gigabit) ethernet ports will be capable of running a CleverLoop Base Station and four cameras.
While routers that are slower than this may be able to support a four camera system, older routers can struggle to connect a third or fourth camera due to data transfer limitations.
If your home network already has high bandwidth, live streaming devices on it (such as smart TV, xBox etc.) you many need to setup a separate router for your camera system, to prevent performance issues due to bandwidth limits.
Your internet connection
Internet download speed should be more than 1Mbps and upload speed should be more than 200kbps. If your internet connection is slower than this, you may have trouble viewing live footage. You can use test your internet speed using Speedtest.
